For beginners, it is very important to gain some basic skills before starting any project. Take time to read and understand the art of knitting. There are a wide variety of resources available today like books, magazines, or the internet. If it is your first time, try creating a piece that is easy to do. Then, you need to have your materials. These are basically a good pair of knitting needles, yarn, and a good pattern or instructional guide. Then, you need to learn the basic stitches. The two basic stitches you need to learn are the purl and knit stitches. In the purl stitch, you have to first take the thread in front of the needle, then, enter the right hand needle on the first stitch of the left hand needle. Then, wind the yarn about the back of the right hand needle from right to left, then, just draw a loop backwards. This will allow sew to slip off from the left needle to the right hand needle. The important thing to remember about this sew is that you have to take the yarn in front of the needle. Then, you can continue until all the stitches are transferred from the left needle to the right needle. In the knit stitch, first pass the right needle through the first stitch of your left hand needle. Then, wind your thread over the cross of two needles, then, over the right hand needle. Just softly pull through the loop. After that, slip over the first original stitch from the left needle to the right hand needle. Repeat this whole process until you take all the stitches from the left needle to the right needle.  Apart from making a scarf, another good thing to make out of yarns is a Crochet Baby Blanket Pattern.
